Painting double hung windows
Hi there, I checked through previous posts and couldn't find this topic covered.
I am ready to paint the wooden frames of my double hung windows (interior) and want to get it right cos some of the windows have been painted shut by previous owners.
Can anyone recommend the order of painting or better yet have a diagram outlining the steps in painting the windows.
Thanks a lot
Kerry

Removing paint from double hung windows
Hi,
I am about to redo a room, with a painted double hund window. All the rest of the house has the windows whihc are stained and frechpolished.
What would be the best way to remove all the paint, especially fromall the nooks, cranies etc.

I'd remove the parting bead first. Lever it out with a chisel, then you can get to the sashes easier and you may be able to scrape the paint off with a sharp chisel. Otherwise remove one of the cover pieces, then remove the sashes altogether.
Cheers
