how to finish cypress for outdoors
Hey guys,
I just bought some cypress fencing pickets from bunnings, which i am going to build a gate with. It is quite oily, so i was wondering what is the best way to protect it?
The fence is painted that typical fence green colour, so i might want it that colour i dunno what paint to use considering it is so oily.
despite the colour does cypress need more protection for outdoors? or is the oil enugh?
Cheers

Um - try your ideas on a test piece?
Left raw, it will weather to the standard grey - naturally enough
HWMNBO has left our fence that "typical fence green colour" for a few years to season/weather a bit. I intend on painting it with the left-over exterior house paint at some stage. I think it was Solver but can't remember.
cheers
