How do I stop getting e mails to posts that I have answered, and posts I have had nothing to do with.

log in, Click on user cp (at the top of the board) on the left of screen choose edit options, scroll down to "messaging and notification" change the option in "Default thread subscription mode"

The "posts I have had nothing to do with" might be a different story i'm not sure about this oneWhen you post a new thread, or reply to a topic, you can choose to automatically add that thread to your list of subscribed threads, with the option to receive email notification of new replies to that thread.

every now and then I get subscribed to threads that I didn't ask for.
