I have to learn to type faster or stay at the computer long enough to finish a post rather than wandering off and working in between typing sessions or something like that. This post was in reply to #21. Probably way too late for it now but I'm sure as hell not going to wast all this good typing time by deleting it now.

The name of the site is "Woodwork Forums", not Neils Woodwork site or something similar It is actually Woodworking Australia's Woodwork Forums, it says so at the top of each page and always has. and this is where the difficulty lies. There is no difficulty. Woodworking Australia is the U-Beaut web site. Owned by guess who.......
It is a public forum. No it is actually a private forum which is open to the public. They are public in the respect that most of the forums can be seen by the public and if the public wishes they can also contribute by becoming a member for free. Hell they can even win free stuff FOR FREE!

Compared to other sites this one is heavily moderated. Don't know which sites you're visiting but they must be in anarchy because this site is extremely under moderated compared to most other woodworking sites I've visited. See The Hornery one's post above, that pretty much sums these forums up.

Ubeaut run the forum for a reason. I have no idea what that reason is but am thankful all the same. My reason for starting these forums was purely selfish. It was to give something back to the woodworking community that over the years has been so good to me.

Mods stop taking things personally and getting upset. OK all mods will be instructed to stand still while some kicks them in the but. NOT! If idiots don't make it personal then it won't be taken personally.

As has been said many times before These Forums are not now and never will be a democracy. I refuse to justify my actions to Eddie or anyone else who demands their rights. WHAT RIGHTS? This is a benevolent dictatorship. Always have been and always will be. Thats one of the reasons why things get done.

Can any of you actually imagine these forums being run as a democracy. There would be dozens of committees each with sub committees and working groups trying to figure out what time the Friday thread would start. As for putting on a new forum, well we'd probably still have the original 4 but each one would have a mens, womens, gay, aboriginal, Muslim, Christian, nondenominational and unemployed section. The other PC ones would still be in the working group stage and 3 more years in the making. HELL NO!

For anyone who doesn't know. Eddies beef (remember Eddie he's the one who started this thread) was with us putting the Womens' Forum on.

    Thumbs down

What the hell? Really what the hell?

Running this forum is like managing a group of morons (except me of course). Oh forget it, I just can’t be bothered.

I will make it short and sweet. If you don’t like it then drop it. Go and run your own little democratic forum and let us know how it goes.

Mr (Mrs/Miss) Moderator, how about we close this thread and then we can all go back to the usual information, banter, rot and hijacks that give this forum its entertainment factor. Sometimes we can all get just a tad over sensitive (can't we Eddie).

You amase me Neil , why you even bother to try to explain it to him , if he couldn't understand your post in the the other thread then I think he only sees what he wants to see and will have the same persecution complex clouding his vision when he reads your latest post.

Personally I would prefer it if they were more heavily moderated by keeping the drivel and crap out of the woodworking threads and keep such drivel for a daily drivel thread.

    Peter.
Thats a tricky one because I reckon the Forums worst and most boring day of the week for all things wood related is Friday. All that energy goes on dribble and not keeping the wood based threads flowing.

Seems to me Eddie has done a 'hit and run' just to see if he can stir us up!

IMO it's Neil's ball, Neil's bat, Neil's pitch and Neil's the umpire. Them's the rules, and you get to choose if you want to play.

Let's get back to spending time on real woodworking.
