Rebed-point roof quote?

Hiya's. Just got a quote to rebed and point (flexibond) ridge caps/gables & change v/irons. Single story 2.5/3 bed w/board cal bung. No question it needs doing, just thought I'd pose the price and look at responses. Quoted $1900 (gst incl). In the ball park?

just had a cement tiled roof fully re-pointed, replaced about 40 tiles and painted with a thick plastic type paint for $4.5k. $1.9k sounds good for the repoint and valleys.

Fair comment. For all the labour etc I gotta admit I was surprised. Bugger if I'd do this type of work...

I got a few other quotes and actually accepted one for 2k. Mad? This bloke seemed to know his stuff and was very upfront with me. The other guy was OK too, just wasn't 'convinced' enough.

Shall report back at completion.

BTW. There's no clean or painting involved. Don't believe in that stuff!

We were quoted about $4900 including GST and it was to lay a whole roof approx. 1400 roof tiles plus ridging, plus supply everthing etc by monier roof tiles..

Hi all

Sorry I win - the fellow across the road sent his roof tiler over yesturday - his quote

to replace 10 tiles - I supply - picked up 1 doz at the salvage yard $18.00
to repoint - I supply the flexi stuff 2 10lt tubs $104.00
his price to do replace the tiles and repoint and clean gutters $280.00

no cleaning or painting -

Thats $ 402.00 excellant for a pair of duplex - so about a big as an average 4 x 2

I had a look at the job he did across the road I could not see anything wrong with it. Not that I know what I am looking at.

He's doing it on maonday - will let you know how it goes.
