Default Estapol on Huon Pine Problem

    Hi,

This is my first post. I hope this is in the right section.

I have been applying estapol to huon pine. Each time I do it bubbles. I know this is because of the high oil content.

Does anyone have a solution on reducing the oil so that the estapol can take to the wood.

    Bill

I am definitely no expert at finishing huon pine but I worked for a furniture company a while back and we had the same problem with the danish oil not drying on a huon pine table. The solution the finishers there came up with was to seal the huon pine with shellac then apply the danish oil over the top.

Any thing with sharp teeth eats meat.
    Most powertools have sharp teeth.
    People are made of meat.
Abrasives can be just as dangerous as a blade.....and 10 times more painfull.

Also try washing the whole thing down with metho before applying glue or finish. Both will work much better.
