Painting Grout.
This is a serious question. Can you paint the grout between tiles with a semi gloss colour?
We all know how grout is hard to clean, and turns from white to brown too quickly.
Well I was wondering if you painted very carefully, between the tiles with a semi-gloss, then it would be cleanable and never turn the horrible mucky colour.
What do y'all think? Am I crazy?
*I have just had the tiles done, and they look so nice and fresh, but I don't know how long that will last. It is only a small area above vanity and kitchen backsplash. I don't intend to paint the floors.

Why don't you just use a grout sealer?
Works in our place.
Doesn't make sense to paint grout "grotty" to stop it going grotty!

Did I say I wanted to paint it grotty? Or does that mean something else? Too tired to think straight right now. I have been painting all night. I want to paint in fresh white semi-gloss.
What is a grout sealer? Do you mean the sealent that goes around the outside edges of tiles, not in between the layout? I don't like that stuff, it goes everywhere, and peels off too easily.
I am talking about the grout in between each tile. lol
Hey, I think of the stupidest ideas when I am tired.

ok then, I think you're crazy!
No. Don't be silly! smack!
Grout sealer is a wipe on product that stops water and ergo all the grotty things carried by water from soaking into your grout.
Where is this grout that you're thinking of painting? If it's in the bathroom and its getting moldy, mildewy use a quick squirt of bleach in a spray bottle. (EXIT MOULD is very effective) That is unless of course you are talking about the shower recess and you've got a Davco waterproofing barrier which will degrade with the application of bleach.........

Hi Makka,
A couple of the items that have been mentioned already can be seen in the image attached. As well as a couple of sites selling similar items.
