Looking for something unique for your floor
G,Day, viewers.
Here is a job I completed today for a bloke who had a bit of forethought and the hairy agates to give it ago. When he first rang me and said he had a Pine floor with stripes of Jarrah I thought to myself this might look a bit ordinary.
However, as it turned out, it looks pretty good. Bear in mind it is a holiday/weekender type house with a excellent Merbau deck surrounding the rooms pictured, and the timber door and window frames ties the whole thing in beautifully.
Anyway, the point of this posting is, if you have an idea, or would like to try something a little bolder than usual, go for it, not everyone will like it, but most will love it and admire your ingenuity.

G'day Dusty.
Great job on the sand n seal.
The hardwood floors magazine from the NWFA in the US has some very intricate floors in this months issue.Hooroo.

I think it looks great - you are right though, when you describe it, it sounds awful, but I think with those windows (are they called 'bay' windows?) it makes the whole thing. I'm saving the photos in my 'interesting' folder (if thats ok!)

For some strange reason I have an overwhelming desire to go ten-pin bowling......
I tend to agree though - I used to work for a company that sold "designer" floor coverings that would allow many different combinations of different styles and colours. Some of the best ones I saw laid were ones that I previously thought would look terrible together. Just got to take a risk......
Of course if you stuff up and it looks terrible then you are stuck with it for quite some time or out of pocket.Retired member

I like it. You've done a good job there, and as glock says that's an awesome finish on it.
