Default calling Barry White or tilt-a-door experts!

One of our tilt-a-doors recently started to cause the securalift opener to misfire on opening and I can't seem to work out what is causing it. I've lubricated the closer chain with lithium grease which made it slightly better but it still trips up. Is there a checklist to run though to service these doors? It seems to be running freely enough when I disconnect it from the closer, and the weight feels about the same as the identical one beside it which functions normally
I'd offer a million thanks to anyone who can help out.

    Cheers
    Michael

    Hi Michael

Just cruising through and saw your call. Not sure about the brand of closer but a couple things and I'm just trying to go by memory on what the problem could be but a couple of things come to mind.

If the chain is running around a sprocket that could be slipping on a shaft or the limit switches could be out of adjustment.

Is there a installation manual for the doors.

If you are looking for the manual go here. Go to the bottom of the page and click on "manual".

    G'day Bazza,
I forgot to mention that the closer runs fine when disconnected from the door and I rechecked all the limit settings and they were fine. When you press close, it moves a little way and stops, like an overload situation. I noticed the overload light is on so was thinking the spring may need adjusting a bit. When I cycle the door from open-close-open by hand it doesn't feel any heavier than the one beside it and it moves freely.

    Thanks for the help

    Cheers
    Michael

As you say the chain may need tensioning because what may be happening if there is too much slack in the chain it could be jumping the sprocket as it goes under load.

The fact that it runs fine with the door diconnected indicates when the load goes on some thing is happening.
