Jack,
you know what they say about TI: "You can get wrecked on Great Keppel, but I got stuffed on TI" Didn't know there was any mining or industrial work going on up there, did the SWMBO get a posting to the hospital there? Not much timber there, better take up fishing (and drinking) as a hobby for the next 18 months.

tomorrow you will have paid for it and not have it."

Yes mate, SWMBO has a posting to the TI hospital.
We are both quite happy about it, which surprises most people.
No there isn't any mining or industrial work up there.
There is one company which does electrical maintenance and one which does A/C and refrigeration maintenance, so I suppose I could pick up a bit of work there.
I have spent a bit of time up there before and it is not a place I would call inducive to work.
I will be pretty happy to work a couple of days a week and spend the rest of the time pulling fish and crays from the ocean, as well as doing my part to remove feral pigs from the cape
I am actually looking at going to work for Lihir Gold in PNG on a
15 days on / 13 days off roster. Apparently they will fly me to TI for my break so that would be nice, don't pay any tax either
