I wouldn't be getting too excited chaps. These tests dont mean a great deal. At least run a series of tests at different times of the day on several different servers over a few days at least. This way you might get a more accurate idea of your average speeds. 1 isolated reading off 1 server dont tell you much. I jsut did two quick tests and the first showed 528 KBS downlaod ythe next showed over 9000 kbs.

We've done this all before and I always win:
Neighborhood Cable Premium (ncable.net.au/) 17159 / 2277 to Melb 50miles - 12141 / 2105 to Adelaide 400 miles
I pay 49.95 per month for 5gb download. Prices have changed a little since I joined 12 mth ago but mine has stayed the same.

Usually about 5500 KB except when the kiddies are on after school and before supper then it slows down to 1500 KB. Or 5.5 meg slowing to 1.5 meg.
About $43US from Time Warner cable. (It's about the only thing that keeps us from moving to the Dish Network for TV.

As far as I am concerned, there is only ONE true way of checking the speed of your connection. Go to a website that can serve files at a speed higher that your connection. This amounts basically to only Microsoft. Download a 10MB file at various times and check the download speed. I generally get 1MB per sec. This equates to about 8Mb per sec. (On Bigpond Cable 7Mb connection)
My humble opinion.
