Floating floor or stick-down for a hallway
I've recently installed a Kempas floating floor (Readyflor Uniclic) in a (nice regular) rectangular room as a "test run" to see how well my skills go at laying floors (we have a concrete slab). I was quite pleased with the result (and so was my wife )
Now the big job is pending, a ~26m2 hallway - also on a concrete slab.
We were considering a "stick down" floor, thinking that it might be harder/longer wearing in a hallway, but talking with a salesman yesterday, he said that the distance to the tongue from the surface is about the same for floating or stick down, so the number of times you can re-sand is about the same. He felt that a floating floor would be fine for the hall.
He also mentioned the stick-down comes raw and needs to be sanded and painted (multiple times), so would require a lot more work compared to what I needed to do with the floating floor.
I did find the uniclick quite easy to install, but it didn't appear that different to what I'd assume a regular tongue and groove board would be (just the gluing as an extra step I assume)
I'd appreciate some advice as to whether a stick-down is worth pursuing, or if staying with a floating floor is ok.
