two finished projects
Here's some photos. The last is the entertainment unit I posted a little while ago, now at home in its role. I entered it in the Aust. Wood Review competition featured in the latest mag. Made it onto the website, but the winners were in a class of their own, several rungs above my effort
It's inspiration for next time tho!

The other three photos are of the completed Huon Pine/ Jarrah cat coffin that I posted some wip photos of. Rupie died 8 years ago tomorrow and his bones needed to be exhumed so this is his temporary resting place and he will be reburied in the box when we move to acreage. It's made with handcut dovetails and the sides fit snuggly into a trench in the lid and a rebate in the jarrah plinth. I carved the pawprints with my smallest gouge and these represent a life cut short. It's finished with 3 coats of FW floor seal. He was one of a kind.
Merry Christmas ALL!!

No, Mic certainly doesn't do things by halves at all.
I still love the entertainment unit - just spectacular!
Cheers

Magic work - Love the footprints, even though they evoke sadness
