    Default Water based coating

I put down a water based coating on a Jarrah floor the other day and I think it looks fantastic. Very different from a standard solvent based polyurethane. Here are some pics.

Looks great. Almost thought you were in my house, the coloring and different grain swirls and pattern is very similar to my place
    Cheers

    Thumbs up

That's beautiful work there. It certainly looks like you took "Extracare"

What sort of water based product did you use? Was it easy enough to apply?

Anyway, you should be really proud of your achievement there, not only does the finish look the goods but you have done a great job of sanding and preparing the floor first.

Keep up this great standard and you will never be short of work.

    Well done.

Thanks for the compliments, especially from the seasoned pros. Cheers.

The coating was 2 coats of Bona Traffic over 1 of Bona Prime. Cost $700 for enough to do 70sqm!!

Prep was lengthy going from a 60 grit on the 8" hummell all the way to 150 on the Canterbury.

I had the whole week to do it and I put the extra effort in. The floor had been well laid, but the timber had heaps of gum veins (deep ones) and there's a whole lot of putty in it.

The colour was excellent, so different from a solvent based poly.

The Bona went down very easily. Brushed around the edges and rolled across the floor with a 10mm nap roller. It levels out extremely well.

Definitely a product I'll encourage customers to use again.
