Well Brisbane got hit by hail yesterday afternoon and today it is windy and a lot cooler than yesterday. Still no rain locally though I believe our local dams may have got some rain....

Apparently it was 40 here in ipswich yesterday and the storm that followed wasn't much with only 3mm of rain here with a small amount of hail. Bring on the rain......

Total Fire Ban here today. Looks like it will be hot, dry and windy.

How go the fires? Any danger of flare ups?

Hope that the mongrels who light fires are on their meds today and stay in bed.

The fire fighting campaign in the Blue Mountains was slowly winding up. The fire is still burning in a remote area of the Grose Valley, but closed roads were being re-opened and fire crews were being stood down.

I was supposed to be on a crew today, but got stood down on Wednesday.
I received a call last night saying that due to the Total Fire Ban, the crew had been re-instated, but I'd already made four appointments for today. Work wins as work pays the bills.

The re-opened road has now been re-closed, and folks are bracing themselves again. We just need a week of cool weather and the fire would probably burn itself out.

A week of rain wouldn't go astray either.
