Rheem hot water unit
G'day all, A Rheem series 101, 50 ltr unit. Two problems, when up to temp the overflow begins running. Is the relief valve servicable. [new one over $100]. Secondly, it is on a dedicated 16 amp curcuit has a 15 amp 3 pin plug. When it kicks in the lights in the house dim a little and conversely brighten when it shut off. Decided to replace it with a larger unit and not sure which way to go. Gas is not an option even here in WA [ $95 per bottle] What resource boom ? Electric storage or instantanious, seems to be a lot of models available. I would love some advice on this matter...Cheers........Lionel

Along similar lines, while a thread on hot water services is underway, what can you tell us about the sacrificial anode? How often should these be replaced, if at all?
I have only recently heard about these things.Last edited by Groggy; 19th November 2006 at 05:36 PM.
