down again, then up again.
I'm home again, Dad is still hanging in there.
Tuesday last week (after his turn on Monday) he got an ICD (implantable cardioverter-defibrillator) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Implant...-defibrillator
He was just getting over that op when it got its first call to duty.... 23 seconds start to finish, it gave him 2 hits before his heart came good again & he didn't even loose consciousness this time.
It waits about 9 seconds before it decides 'that is too long' and gives him a jolt.
A bit scary but it works.
We arrived at the hospital not long after the incident & were able to spend a bit of time with him.
After a sleep, they decided that it was doing the job & he wasn't suffering any side affects so they moved him out of intensive care that arvo.
I spent a fair amount of time with him on Thursday & Friday & he was getting better each day.
By Friday he was confident enough to walk without assistance.
If all goes well he may be out of hospital early next week.
Thank you everybody for you concern & thanks for the offer of a place to stay Major, we stayed with Mum's brother out at Samford.Cliff.
If you find a post of mine that is missing a pic that you'd like to see, let me know & I'll see if I can find a copy.
