    Default Update

    G'day.

I tried earlier but the BB wasn't working too well.

    Dad had major surgery today.
Heart valve repair & major artery repair using parts pinched from elsewhere in his body.
The doc says "it went well for an old fart."

He was kept very cold & had a heap of his own blood in a bag next to him slowly draining back into him while he was brought back up to normal body temp.
They reckon they will have him up & walking tomorrow... I'm looking forward to talking to him again.

He is not out of the woods yet but there is hope.
    Cliff.

    G'day Cliff,

That sounds great Cliff. Keep us up to speed, because while there's nothing I/we can do you've got our support and hope that he pulls through to a full recovery.

Thanks blokes; Mum sounded positive on the phone tonight, she was sounding very worn out in the last couple of days.

Better news Cliff. I'm glad he seems to be on the mend again.
It's amazing what they can do theses days.

Good luck Cliff with your Dad's recovery, hopefully he'll be up and around & giving you some cheek soon.

It's major surgery for sure but with the great doctors and medical facilities we have in this country he'll be there for you and your family to enjoy many more years of his company.

    All the best
    cheers

Well he is still with us.
Has been up for 2 walks around the ward today, has had a bit to eat & drink & his heart has taken over so they have turned off the external pacemaker. (but left it attached just in case)
So far there are no leaks.
