Need To Build Some Rafters
hello, i have just signed up because i need some help on building some rafters for my shop extension. i live in the great white north so hauling the prebuilt rafter 1200 kms is not feasible so i would like to make them.
is there a place where one can get a drawing or two???
here is a picture of the 2 cabooses i whipped up in september. it took a year to order the big timber for the bases.

Now there's a truly interesting collection of stuff, and what looks to someone who's never seen snow falling, like an absolutely terrifying vacation to boot!
Living as most of us do about as far from the conditions that you, this forum may be exactly the wrong place to get information, but one never knows!
If you'd asked about building in the Australian Desert, you'd have been swamped with replies.
Good luck with the project, and with the tours too... I'm thinking!
Cheers,
P

Can you give a bit more detail an exactly what you would like to achieve with the rafters? are you looking to create a roof over the cabooses? Some details on spans etc.

Pity that website shows only designs for roof loads in snow country.
Would be ggod to see a site where snowloads are not a factor
