gaps in polished floorboards
Hello dear woodworkers,
I have numerous 1-2mm gaps appearing between the boards in my 12-month old Tasmanian oak polished floorboards. Is this normal? and, is there something I can do to close the gaps or prevent the latter from happening?
I would be grateful for any useful suggestion.
Many thanks in anticipation.

Hi John, the boards have shrunk a little for a host of reasons. But you won't be able to do anything it.
You may notice in winter the gaps will close up and little.

G'day John.
Mate, Don't ya just love timber flooring? Eh? Eh?
Gaps are a part of life for timber floors.
They swell in high humidity times and shrink in low humidity times.
There is nothing you or I can do about it ecept for A/con used all year round.
How long has the floor been down?
What is subfloor?
Clearance to ground?
Any useful info would be good.Hooroo.
Regards, Trevor
