joist spacing from walls
Help anyone?
I'm laying bearers and joists for a cut-in yellow tongue floor. The width of floor is approx 2600. Should I set five joists at 450 centres and have 150mm of board overhanging between the outside joist and the wall, or should I increase the joist spacing to 500 centres or shell-out for another joist and lay the at 410 centres?
It looked pretty simple yesterday

My advice...more is better than less. If you are planning on having anything heavy in the room...ie fishtank, washing machine etc run the joists @450mm everywhere else and double up at the load point.
cheers
