    Default Bad apple?

Here's another one that just landed in my email. Now, I can't verify the figures here, so could be a complete beatup, but if it is accurate...
    *****************************************************
Does the following apply to the

    ARL OR AFL?

    This is good !!!!

36 have been accused of spousal abuse
7 have been arrested for fraud
19 have been accused of writing bad checks
117 have directly or indirectly bankrupted at least 2 businesses
3 have done time for assault
71, repeat 71 cannot get a credit card due to bad credit
14 have been arrested on drug-related charges
8 have been arrested for shoplifting
21 currently are defendants in lawsuits,
and 84 have been arrested for drunk driving in the last year

Can you guess which Organization this is?

Give up yet? . . . Scroll down,

Neither, it's the 535 members of
    The AUSTRALIAN PARLIAMENT IN CANBERRA

The same group of idiots that crank out hundreds of new laws each year designed to keep the rest of us in line.

You gotta pass this one on!

I think we have 'cheques' in Oz...

And I'm not sure we have that many Members of Parliament (could be completely wrong on this one. )

I've seen the yank version before. I think it was "the members of the Senate".

Well, as I half suspected, its a porky...but that's emails for you! Apologies if it's been posted before.
We have have had a couple of cases of drunk pollies driving, maybe nothing over and above the national average, but our biggest problem seems to be with conflict of interest cases. And as for "bankrupting a business", don't CEO's get a bonus for such a thing?? Or is that in spite of it ...

    Cheers,

The Urban Legends Reference Pages (www.snopes.com) is your friend for sorting out this sort of stuff.
