    Default New Google Earth

Of course this may have been around for a while, but Ihave just downloaded the latest updated version and the rendering is much better than the earlier version. Check out the Aussie Alps for starters, and there are a lot more Aussie towns that have pretty fine detail visible now. In particular part of Bendigo is now very clear - I can pick out the place where my parents lived, and the mutions dump just to the east of the city is much clearer. Good fun!

Ah yes, looking back in time hey! Some of the pics around Bendigo were taken in January of this year - can tell be a couple of new estate developments that were happening about then. Wish they would get a clear pic of MY house but!

As you may guess from the following, SWMBO does not know much about computers or Google earth.

1st April 2006. Daughter rings from Melbourne. "Quick mum, they're doing a live update on Google Earth. If you run outside & wave, I'll be able to see you on my computer."

So why is that lady standing in the back yard waving at the sky? Why are the man of the house and the young lady in Melbourne wetting themselves laughing?
