    Default Eltham

    G'day

Looking at buying/moving to Eltham (Vic)
I'm looking for general feedback about the area, we have a 3 kids so I'm not too interested about the night life
Anyone lives, lived their, what did you like ? what didn't you like ?

    Thanks

I love it. Been there over 11 years. It's got it's problem (traffic being one - depending on when/where you're going) but I have a young family and the area is great.

Eltham (in North, South, East) covers a pretty wide area. Which bit are you looking at?

PM if you like some more details.

Yep, he's not lying the traffic is a nightmare ! It can seriously take 10 minutes to get on to Main Road from a side street.

It is a huge suburb and very diverse in terms of the housing, peoples attitudes and character. At the extremes of Eltham you might as well buy in the neighbouring suburb and save yourself paying for 'Eltham'.

Does the traffic get better once you hit the multilane road at Templestowe ?

Can you quickly expand on "very diverse in terms of the housing, peoples attitudes and character" ??
    PM me if you want

    thanks

I have always viewed Eltham as an interesting cross section of communities like Brighton and NImbin
You know, BMW's and Kombi's, Grange Hermitage and dope etc etc.
Know a few people there and could happily settle in if I didn't need the acres I have now.
Stupidity kills. Absolute stupidity kills absolutely.
