Heat gun on Acrylic Paint
Are heat guns suitable for acrylic paint? (I tried a search on the form and couldn't find an answer.)
I have to repaint the timber window and door frames around my house. There is the original layer of I assume a thin paint or stain (Built in the 80's). A previous owner has put a single layer of acrylic over the top. This was a poor job, levaing a few exposed patches and cracks along the grain that have allowed the weather in.
I am going to strip it back before repainting. I have already sanded and painted a few doors, but was thinking using a heat gun would speed up the process, before a final sand.

Usually acrylic melts into a sticky mess, but you won't know till you try it.
