We don't have any lawns but being on a corner we have a big nature strip which need to be cut.

Cut it today (4th time this year) which took half an hour and the next mowing is due just before Christmas.

May be I should send a bill to the Council for all this work.

Maybe you should, maybe we all should, seeing as how the rules state that its up to the councils to keep the roadside reserve mowed.

Could you imagine the amount of money that the government would have to shell out if that one was legit.....!!!!

did you know ! that in 4 years I haven't of yet, even ONCE, managed to smash one of his windows. Disappointing that is.
Apricot, Do you realise that now you have said this you've shot yourself in the foot and the neighbours window is doomed!!
It's better to be thought of as a fool than to speak up and remove all doubt!

And I know what you mean Tex. There'd be a rule out there alongside Murphy's rules to cover that isn't there?

hope it doesn't actually happen though. Mate of mine hit a rock, which threw a blade right into his foot. Out of work for 3 months.

I believe that in NSW, you're covered by council insurance for damage to 3rd party property while mowing the verge. Don't know about personal injury.

The Victorian goverment did some legislation a coupla years ago about mowing the verge, they tryed to put the onus on the land owner, they mis wrote it.

Now land owners who were sued for having weeds on the roadside reserve want the fines paid back to them.

It was in the farmers paper the Weekly Times a few weeks back.

Its wierd aint it that we maintain an area of land that we dont have any rights over. I have a few neighbours that refuse to mow the nature strips so the council comes and does it for them.
Personally I recon mowing is for the birds, I pay someone to do ours but theyre so unreliable that the neighbours that use the council get better service than me.
