Good cheap brushes? For window sill etc

For Acrylic paint - High gloss. What is a good cheapish brush?

I guess 38-50mm would be the best?

I bought a 38mm Rota Cota Perfect finish for about, I think, $15-$20 from bunnings. I've used it quite a bit for all my cutting in and trims, etc.

The bristles are really soft and give a good finish. And, most importantly, they stay in the brush and not on the paintwork!

The one thing that I've really noticed is that it washes up perfectly clean every time and has lasted me about 6 months so far and the bristles still look like new (well, almost).

Definitely worth spending a bit extra on a good brush in my opinion.

I just bought a heap last night at Bunnings....bought just under the top of the range ones...for the windows 38mm and 25mm. Learnt my lesson the first time I paintedwhen I went el cheapo on the brushes...

I used the 60mm roller on the first coat for the window sills, but it doesn't seem to gloss up as much..

My 100mm brush cost me $20...for a 38mm should cost about $12 or so. The main thing is to buy good brushes but look after them when your finished ie wash them properly so they can be re-used again and again. I must admit I do get lazy and need to work harder to clean the brushes!!

I got a decent brush - guy at bunnings swore by these 38mm ones for $5. Seem very good - no stray hairs etc.

However I am not getting a real glossy finish.

They did say to dow a fine sand after the 2nd coat before the 3rd coat.

It doesnt look incredibly smooth.

Is this typical of the acrylic high gloss aquanamel...??

I use teh midrange Rota Cota for paint, poly etc. and never had problems (Except when i left it sit in the tin of turps until it turned to jelly). I haven't used aquanamel. But acrylic gloss never flows as even as enamel, and never gets to the same gloss level.
