    Default Life really sucks sometimes

found out on friday that my dad is in the advanced stages of liver cancer.
was given 2 ,maybe 3 months tops.
we are really hoping that he is able to hug/hold his first grand kid due in 6 weeks but looks unlikely at this stage.
fathers day was extra special this year but life really does suck sometimes.

    G'day Maglite,

I'm sorry to hear this mate and I do hope that he gets to hold his first grand child. My dad has just come out of remission not all that long ago and just seeing him crook was bad enough. My family will be thinking of you during this time.

    Sad news indeed

Take heart in knowing that the physical body is just a temporary thing the mind and soul use on their path to higher places. He will always be with you in one way or another...

Sure hope he hangs on for the magic moment of new life in your family Maglite.

    My sympathies and goodluck.

    Spit.

Have watched 2 close people go that way, one this time last year.

Anything you have to do or places to go, do/go now, 'cos things rarely get better from here on.

I can't offer you anything other that to tell not to waste any time as it is now precious.

    Sorry to hear it.

It's all been said above maglite. I really have nothing new to add but my support and well wishes for you and your family for whatever time left together you have and for you all at the end.

For what is undoubtedly an incredibly sad time for you, I hope you find time to celebrate your fathers life with him before he passes.

life sucks all the time mate, exept for that breif moment when you get distracted from it all...when things like this happen and also what happened to Croc hunter, it is at these times that we wonder if you know who up there is really doing anything at all to look after us, and we supposed to belive...

Can't agree, la, life doesn't suck. Some events do, but there is a lot in life to enjoy.

    know what you mean
some events in life really do suck
from my own experience, I lost my mum to cancer 20 years ago, things get better between now and the end.
Concentrate on sharing the moments, getting him to talk about his life, hopes and past dreams so you can pass onto the kids what grandpa was really like.
    remember memories last forever

oh, and make sure you, your dad and the rest of the family have sorted out things like wills and inheritances. You've time to make arrangements to avoid or minimise capital gains tax once your dad is gone.

    best wishes

Condolences to you maglite. It's something we all have to go through.

But life doesn't suck. That is life, as hard as it is to cope with at the time. My greatest wish is to go before my kids. That's how it should be.

Life goes on, as it will when we all meet our end at some time.
If at first you don't succeed, give something else a go. Life is far too short to waste time trying.
