This discussion about load bearing elements may be getting a little bit ahead of itself. Does the back of the cupboard even go up to the ceiling?

Well if is as he said that it is the wall to bedroom it would look funny if it didn't.

Thanks for all the responses! I didn't even think of the possibility that it was a load bearing wall!

I settle on the house on Thursday so I will have more of a look then and take some photos.

The cupboard does go all the way up to the ceiling... there are smaller storage cupboards on top of the standard size linen press.
