Default Rinnai Infinity on Timber Cladding

    Hi All,

Currently planning/building an extension which is to be clad in Shadowclad (type of ply cladding).

I would assume you cant install a Rinnai Infinity onto this type of timber cladding so was wondering what type of backing is needed.

Is a sheet of fibre cement board Ok and if so whats the minimum size I would need.

    many Thanks
    Chris

I'm about to do the same, only on to weatherboards - so I'd be keen to hear anyone's thoughts as well

I have answered my own question.

I rang up the Bosch tech support line (i actually have a Bosch unit but Rinnai Infinity almost seems part of the Aussie vocabulary) and they said that the 17E/21E/25E models (i guess like the Rinnai Infinity ) dont need any special backing.

I'm still a bit dubious so if there are any plumbers out there, can you confirm

    Thanks
    Chris
