    Thanks Stuart i been using mozilla firefox for some time (love it, why any one use windoz is beyond me )and i wasn't aware of thunderbird. i been on the net 6 years and have never had a problem with spam until 14months ago when i signed up with bigpong now i'm inadated with it:mad: i'm down loading thunderbird now thanks again

    The problem with using Thunderbird is that it still downloads the whole message onto your computer. Using a program such as Mailwasher you can delete the emails off the server at Bigpond by just looking at (and marking accordingly) the headers. Mailwasher also learns and can be set to reject automatically everything from say China or *.*au etc.

    Yep, what Bob says. I have been using the free version of Mailwasher for some years now and I would not be without it.

    Have you considered Yahoo for your mail? Since I've turned on SPAM guard, a bad day is 5 SPAM messages.
