hair dye for timber
in the light of a couple of past posts, trying to achieve "pretty" colours, it occured to me that hair dye might be worth looking into.
there are some prety wild colours available.
has anybody tried this?
can anybody think why there might be some problems?
Just a wild thaught.

People are made of meat.
Abrasives can be just as dangerous as a blade.....and 10 times more painfull.

hair dye might not be colorfast
wiser to experiment with fabric dyes.

As I understand there are two basic types of hair dye.
wash out and permanent.
hopefully one of the girls will jump on this one, or I will have to talk to a hair dresser:eek:

according to a hairdressing teacher at TAFE there are two types of hair dye.
semi Permanent - comes ready mixed wash into hair can be removed. Light fastness not concidered- depends on colour and customers hair but is only meant to be temporary so probably no good.
permanent - comes as a two part product-- mixed together reacts with oxygen and penetrates into hair
She didn't think either type would be suitable to use as a stain.
BUT probably no one has tried it so maybe some research needs to be done anyone got access to SHMBO's hair dye.
