    Default Frosted Perspex

    Hello all,

I am thinking of building my kitchen, bathroom and entertainment units using frosted perspex for my doors.

I understand the statistics look good in terms of what properties perspex offers and was after some feedback from people who have used this material.

I was wondering if anybody out there has had any experience with using frosted perspex as a replace ment for glass.

Also would like to know if anybody can refer me to businesses in Melbourne that supply frosted perspex. As such I have fouind AllPlastics in Sydney, see All Plastics #1 and All Plastics #2.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

HF, the only disadvantage that I can think of is that perspex can scratch moderately easily. Other wise it could look really good. Least it wouldn't break!

Used frosted perspex in a X-ray reader for a doctor mate.
Cut carefully it is somewhat brittle and can crack easily.
Fine tooth bandsaw cut slowly worked well, but you needs to supported while you cut.
Better yet get the supplier to cut to size.
