Timber decking
Hi all, my first message. I was wondering if anyone has used any alternatives for decking. I love the look of oiled hardwoods, but has anyone evr used flooring instead, my deck will be covered but will still get it's fair share of the weather? Can you lay the boards hard up against each other and leave expansion gaps? If anyone has any ideas I would love to hear them. I have 150 m2 around the house.

Dan,
The answer is no, I haven't tried / used floorboards as decking.
Considering the expansion gap requirements for external use(ave 4% of board width), I can't see how can one install it.
That is the reason why the decking boards are 4" and recommended gap is 3 to 4mm (and for drainage)
Decking for 150 sqm? Oh boy.
Regards,
Theva

Thanks Theva, I thought as much. Yeah I know 150 m2, drilling pilot holes what a night mare, but it should look good.
