fixing to concrete stumps
I have recently renovated my brick house and need to add those ( are they called barge boards) boards that hide the ugly parts under timber verandas. My question is how do I fix the boards to concrete stumps ( not brick piers ) I am a bit worried about drilling into them .

Most of the houses that I have seen have 3 by 2 that has been fixed with spaghetti and nails to the side of the stump. You can then nail or screw your boards on

Best way is to concrete a peice of treated pine in with the stump when u put the stump in to nail the boards to. I have seen liquid nails used instead but not to keen on this method. You can also buy wire threaded clams that are used to attach sub floor bracing or maybe you could even radiatior hose clamps. I have seen drilling into stumps cause large sections to fall off so would not recommend you do it that way.

G'Day,
How about using Booker
Bocker
Boker Rod and Clamping a 3 x 2 to it with another 3 x 2 behind.
No damage to the Post.
