Cool Hey.... Why isn't my Avatar moving??

Maybe this is the wrong place for this thread??

Anyway, I've checked it on my screen as a GIF file and it works fine. My quarter horse should be cantering his little rear (only?) end off. Quarter horse - get it?
    What's the secret, fellows?

The forum is displaying it as a jpg (therefore no animation is possible). Might have been automatically converted when you uploaded it.

Not sure how you went about generating the avatar - did you resize the original image before uploading? If you did, what package did you use to resize the image? (some drawing packages dont handle animated gifs very nicely and only take the first frame - MS Paint is particularly brain dead). I'd have a go at generating an animated avatar myself, but the drawing systems at work are rubbish. I'll have a go tonight...

You have uploaded a plain gif file for your avatar, not an animated gif.

if youare going to try it out do it quickly as it is quite possible that we will be banning all animated gifs somewhere in the near future.

You will need a program like Coral Photo paint, or go to Tucows and get a gif editor.
Animated gifs do not always resize too well without losing some of the info and sometimes all of it. Best to make the gif in the finished size.

Hope this is of some help.

    Cheers - Neil

Thanks Neil (and Mr Mouse). I'm on it! How much time do I have? This thing looks great when it moves!

But Mr Beaut, I won't be half as threatening, or half as cute if I'm not swingin' me club.
    Boring signature time again!
