those croats were very bad sports
My favourite was near the end when one of the Croats tackled a Socceroo and kicked the ball out, then picked it up and tried to do a quick throw in before the liney noticed it. I wonder how often that works?

Goal 1. A fantastic free kick from a dubious foul.

Goal 2. A penalty for handball and a well taken penalty kick.

Goal 3. Kalac goes back to his heritage and forgets that he doesn't play for Croatia. It was pathetic.

Goal 4. Kewel finishes beautifully from an offside position. Lucky Viduka was also offside and blocked the view of the linesman.

Again Australia lucked out. However, there should have been two other penalties for Australia, one when Simunic was all over Viduka and the other, the 'hand of God' style hand ball, exactly the same as the one we got the penalty for. The ref was OK in the game but missed those things in the box and also missed the fact that Simunic got three yellow cards. The second yellow on Emerton was for a handball when the Croat kicked the ball up into his arm and it also hit him where his arm meets his shoulder. Not enough for handball in my book. Not that I think Australia will miss Emerton.

    Go Aussies!

I'm reading all this, and just very quietly and delicately wondering something.

    What was the #!@*!@@!*!!!score?

Over here, everything went rather quiet after we gave the locals a drubbing, and I don't hear very much about it anymore. Other than that look when someone asks where I am from.

At least Japan did what no one else in the group could. They scored against Brazil.

Have to give Japan credit for that Dan. They were able to score and score first too. It was a bit of give it a lash. I think they lost spirit when Brazil equalised but they did at least give it a good go.
