Al, different browsers render code differently.

A lot of PC authoring software still codes only for Internet Explorer rather than to the W3 standard, but colours are standard, so I don't think that's the problem!

You will get similar results with strange fonts like the braddon you are using, some people will not have them, so they will get something plain like courier instead. Also remember that some people turn off javascript so don't rely on it completely for navigation.

I am still getting the split phone number and a few other issues.

Al, the reason you are seeing a different link colour is probably because you are seeing the colour for visited links.

Links can have three different colours depending on their state: - unused, currently active or previously visited.
This is to help users track which links they have visited.

When working on your web pages from your local machine, you probably tested each link. Once you did, your browser would display the links in the "visited link" colour. This is not what others see when they view a fresh page.

When designing your pages, it is a good idea to periodically clear history from your browser, then reload the pages so that you see what they look like when "fresh".

The three link colours can be specifically set. For example, the following code sets the background colour of a page to white, text to black, unused links to blue, active links to red, and visited links to a grayish colour.

while the tag "best viewed with monitor turned on" is cute, you really need to decide what will be your "design" screen resolution.

I'm currently running 1280 x 1024 on a 17in LCD, which is pretty standard for 17 and 19in LCDs, you don't get 1600 x 1200 unless you have a 20in LCD or 21in CRT both of which are pretty serious screen sizes. Those with a 15in LCD are probably running 1024 x 768, while 15CRTs are probably running 800 x 600.

I'd guess that your "general user" is still pottering around with a screen resolution of 800 x 600 or if you're lucky 1024 x 768. Hey at work, guys with 17in CRTs downgrade teh resolution to 800 x 600 'cause "it's easier to read"
However, I think I'd design for 1024 x 768 on the basis that most PCs (whether LCD or CRT) sold over the past 5 years or so will support this resolution. You should state your design resolution on the site.

Also, try to avoid asking a user to scroll a few lines just so they can see the end of a page. If possible layout a page so that there is either 1 or 1½ or 2 or 2½ or 3, etc screens of information.

Others have commented on your use of fonts, link and background colours, I've a similar "looks yucky" response.

Lastly, it's 10:00PM I'm viewing your site, why can't I send you an email? Would you prefer that I rang you from California at 3:00AM?
While I appreciate that you want to avoid spam, if you put your email address in as a clickable graphic, I'm fairly certain that the 'bots can't see it so you shouldn't get too much rubbish.
