Planer moulder
Does anyone have a thicknesser moulder, or perhaps used it?
I need to replace my thicknesser, Hafco 10" combination I use only as thicknesser, and am undecided between the 15" Carbatec 3HP $1295 or the 13" "planer" moulder 1095 + 299 for cutters, so in fact $100 dearer for a lesser machine.
Yet the easy with which one would be able to make architraves skirting boards and moldings is an attraction.
Is it worth while sacrificing 2 inches and one HP on the thicknesser, or should I stick with making mouldings on the router table as I have been doing until now?
Also Jet use to make the same thicknesser moulder on a stand, looking a bit better than this one. Do you know if they still have it? it's not in the Carbatec catalogue anymore.
