Harry, I believe there is a Carbatec in NZ, Auckland I think, I know you probably are limited in what you can buy and bring back - but at least you can go kick some tyres.

Harry, if you are flying international, then it would pay to stay at the airport, especially if a busload of non-English speaking tourists get to customs before you and your flight is being called!!!!
Lazarides is good, but not really worth $40 dollars in cab fare to be honest, especially, as you say, if you can't take any of their timber with you.
Just my humble opinion....
