My beautiful floor!
Well, I am well into finishing off my Vic. Ash/Tassie Oak/Sugar Gum floor. We had it professionally sanded and they did a great job. I then used Cabots Floor Sealer (satin) keeping the application thin. I figured a lot of thin coats was better than big pools and puddles. The sanding guys then came back and did a screen/sand. Actually the young bloke did it and was not as thorough as I would have liked, so I put on another coat of sealer, let it dry overnight then this morning went and hired a screen/sander. I gave the floor a really thorough going over and did any pokey edges with a sanding block. It has come up a treat!
Of course during all this my spouse went away on business, so I have done everything all by my girlie self. As usually happens in these circumstances, things started to 'happen'. The dog got sick - never had a problem in all her 13 years, then got an infected sebacious cyst on her back... I have to squeeze the pus out and give her tablets and medicine each day... the fun never ends! The next thing was the heating. Since I am doing the floors, I can't use the Coonara fire as it creates too much dust/ash etc, so I have been using the reverse cycle air conditioner for heating. It has a nifty remote control to operate it... except of course last night the !#$& batteries went flat and I couldn't turn the heating on. Every other clock/remote control/radio in our house takes AA batteries, so of course the air conditioner remote control needed AAA batteries. ...And there's no one here to make me cup of coffee or anything - you know I reckon I need a wife - my husband's got one and he reckons they're really useful!

Sorry no pics - I have all the technology but no digital camera... But it's really nice - honest! I can tell how good it is just by the amount of pain in my ancient back.
