Average Cost of Home Foundations/Slab
Hey Guys,
I am planing to build duplexs in Sydney (Owner Builder), but before I do I just would like to know how much on average Concrete Foundations Cost. I have heard that the Ribbed Waffle Pod system is the cheapest option to go for. Any Ideas?
Also how much is it to install the plumbing etc before the construction of the slab.
Replies in this regard will be greatly appreciated.

If those are the opening questions I would suggest you get a builder in and forget about the owner builder stuff, as the question is that open ended you have no hope of a decent answer.

Lavish,
You currently have two choices.
You can take John's advice, or Ozwinner's quote.
While Oz has a very good reputation and is an excellent tradesman, his quote looks very cheap to me, and I think you'll find he hasn't allowed for lots of things that you'll want to include in the job. In the building trade, these bits that you need done, but aren't included in the quote are called VARIATIONS, and tradesman have been known to buy things like great big Ford Yoots just from the profit on variations when dealing with ownerbuilders who start out with little more than stars in their eyes.
We aren't being negative here, just honest.
Search other owner-building threads on this forum for discussions on why it isn't cheaper for laymen to build.
Unless you are going to spend a lot of your personal time, and include that at no value, think very hard about why you are doing this.
If you have lots of trade background to fall back on, then you may do ok, otherwise it may pay to learn a bit more before you start.
All the best,
P
