Question for plumbers!

Hi,

Just bought a wood heater for my dads shed, made from truck brake drums, its excellent! I want to hook it up, before he gets back from holidays in 3 days time...

The opening for the flue connection is 115mm, is it possible to purchase gal tubing from metal land that will do the job as a flue?

I know you can buy flew kits but they want $35 per 900mm rise, im trying to save some dollars if possible.

If so what do i ask for..

don't use gal pipe unless you want to poison your dad with the fumes.:eek: The reason the commercially available flue kits are so expensive is that they're stainless steel and have an inner and outer section where they pass through the ceiling and roof. This is so they won't burn the ceiling or melt the roof flashings.

Went down to local metal land and they had stainless lengths 1200mm long for $32 per length, also got a roof tite to seal out the weather and a hood to stop the rain running down the flue!

Works really well and its the best present ive given my dad in years...
