Hi, am wondering if anyone knows approx price per metre of concrete stumps, can only find 100mm square price on net and no qld suppliers. I want qld price for 200mm square to restump the nightmare

If you are trying to renovate a Queenslander and want to preserve the old look, go for steel stumps inside (much cheaper) and treated timber of about the same diameter as the originals round the perimeter.

You can get away with poured concrete circular ones, but the timber will be fine. Find a house stumper/removalist and they'll give you all the prices you need, but be careful, that industry is riddled with people who are "less than tradesmanlike!"

Hey Bitingmidge, there is one supplier I know of but they have a reputation for being exclusively expensive. Totally turned me off raising and I didn't get price of stumps when I spoke to them. Just trying to sort out budget over long weekend. I have just bought queenslander and haven't settled (12days to go)yet but have noticed some very uneven stumps with huge packers on top. I am hoping to get away from further subsidence with lots of concrete. Isn't concrete cheaper than timber or steel?

Steel is far cheaper and easier, which is why everyone is using it!

Concrete and timber are probably on a par, if you can't get someone from Maryborough, try Gympie or Bundy maybe? I doubt that there'd be anything that needed restumping in Hervey Bay, but who knows?

There are quite a few suppliers here in brissie. Most are about $10 ft or about $33 pm. Steel will come in about $20-25 pm. Advantage of steel is one man can lift a 3m post , whereas you need a bobcat or 6 guys to lift concrete.

think I will go for concrete round perimeter and steel underneath, then the paling panels will still be close to right width so no extra $$$ to spend there, cheers
