Heard of Bevelux ?
Hi all,
I'm nearing completion of building an extension under a Queenslander that we've had raised, stage 2 of which is to renovate the original upstairs. The house has an extension on the back that would have been built approximately in the late 70s which has weatherboards as the exterior cladding and fibro sheeting as the internal lining.
I have had to remove/replace some of the exterior weatherboards on this section of the house and have noticed that the internal sheets have the word 'Bevelux' printed on the back of them.
As I will be removing these wall sheets, I was hoping someone might have worked with this product in the past and could advise as to whether these sheets contain asbestos ? I am certainly planning to treat them as asbestos until I know better, but would be interested to get some more information on the product.
I have tried searching the internet etc but not had any luck so far..
Many thanks,
Blair

Yes it does contain asbestos, Bevelux was a trade name for fibro sheeting when they first put bevelled edges on it.

Hi Attie,
Thanks for your reply - I was pretty sure that it was.
Cheers,
