    Doorstop,

My dictionary definition fits my proposal.

A word formed from the initial letters of a name, such as WAC for Women's Army Corps, or by combining initial letters or parts of a series of words, such as radar for radio detecting and ranging.

    Doorstop,

    I've been educated!

What Would We Want When We Win? As an alliteration, cannot be an acronym, as WWWWWWW DOES not form a word.

Where 'Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus' does, as in SCUBA.

Here are a couple of old computer acronyms.

Many early computer programmers and users called their computer FRED Fu**ing Ridiculous Electronic Device.

TWAIN The standard protocol for scanners that allows you to scan into a program without leaving that program. All scanners are now classed as TWAIN comatible. TWAIN Thing Without An Interesting Name.

NEC as in the printer manufacturer etc. Never Ever Compatible.
