Default GMC Log Splitter quality ?

Does anyone have any knowledge of the quality of the $450 2KW GMC electric log splitter ?

At that price I don't think it would split anything but Radiata.

I paid $3000 for this one and it will split just about anything.

I haven't seen them, but it will only be as good as a GMC can be.

Bunnings here have the Ozito version for about the same price. I don't know how good it would be though.

Thank you all. Compared with Bazza's machine, the GMC is a toy. i now find it is limited to 5 tonnes, log size max 10" dia by 12" long. Bazza does 20 or 30 tonnes, and much larger logs.

I suspect Bazza is right about the GMC being limited to radiata, or perhaps small logs of straight grained hardwood. And I can crack that stuff by hand.

And I've accidentally stuck this also on the end of Bazza's old thread about designer Firewood. Sorry Bazza.
