Timber floor creaks
I have cyprus pine floor boards through out the house and have creeking in the kithchen area lately. Can I use a lubricant to stop this or should I fix another timber piece under the house to provide extra support to stop this silly noise.
Im afraid that if leave it it might increase the wear to a point where it cant be fixed. It feels quite solid but this creak noise is getting to me.

G'day.
If you can get under the floor, glue a 70x35 batten between the joists and to the floor.
You can also sprinkle baby powder on the board joins and then sweep (not vacuum) it up.
If the floor has only started to squeak, that is a sign that the floor is moving due to climatic changes.
There is virtually nothing that will stop climate induced noise.Hooroo.
