Went with SWMBO to local branch of supercreeps auto this morning, she wanted new seatcovers for the little ford, and I needed something to clean dirty motorcycles with .As we were checking out there was this little 2.0hp 25 litre compresser, for $20, tag on it and written in marker in big plain writing on the tank was VALVE BROKEN, DOES NOT WORK so I thinks to meself, umm need a new regulator and TJ needs a new pump for his cheepy, so I forks over a redback. Get home pull it off the back of the ute and discover the little brass tap was put on the wrong way, 20 seconds later and 1/2 a litre of (supplied)oil & shes a complete runner Kids & me now have a new pushbike & motorbike tyre pumperupper, for less $$ than a good manual type foot one costs
laughin me arsk off bout it all day actually.
I reckon we could dub this sorta luck "pullin a Jake" as he seems to do this all the time judging by his posts.Bruce C.

I went into a tool shop that specialises in Brickies tools one day last week.
I only went there to get some small hand tool bits and pieces.
While I was there I enquired as the price of a new mixer, $1090 I was told.
Hmm, do you take trade ins, and if so, how much is my decrepid 10 year old mixer worth that I paid $800?
The guy checks it out, OK well give you $400 for your old one.
Cool a new mixer for $690, Ill be back later.
I went back 2 days later and saw the guys older brother and told him of the deal his brother and I had struck.
His face turned white. ( or purple )
Anyways, I got the new mixer for the agreed price, then the older brother told me they can only get $400 for secondhand mixers even after they replace the bearings and spruce them up.

Often gotten things real cheap of the throwout table from the large Dept chains because the buttons etc dont work. Put in new batteries and amazingly it works. I guess its easier for them to write it off rather than try fixing the toys
