    Default Don't Understand

Two Australian women won the gold medal for synchronized swimming, one also won a bronze medal in the solo synchronized swimming

How the hell do you have solo syncronized swimming

I asked the same question a few days ago when they were giving a preview of the event.

My son rolled his eyes and went back to his computer game.

My lovely girlfriend gave my arm a whack and called me a 'stupid man'.

But I still don't understand

Synchronised swimming, whether it be solo or otherwise, continues to be the second most pointless event at the games behind 'rhythmic gymnastics', despite the obvious skill required for both.

Despite such quandries, I'm guessing you enjoyed the hockey today. Personally, I've always been wary of any sport where the first thing they do is to give every player an offensive weapon, however, I do enjoy watching the hockey and both our men's and women's teams have given us much to be proud of over them over the years.

yes, I too am watching these games ... despite them being held in Melbourne

sounded like a really good game but unfortunately i couldn't watch it. i was playing my first game of 3rd grade seniors (im good enough to play up grades and from jnrs to snrs), we lost 1-0 but the aussies one 1-0 off a bloody good deflection...wish i was down there watching, it would have been awesome

the weapon in hockey isn't really the stick, its the ball, eg i've cracked 3-4 goalie helmets with a ball ( bloody good shots beside the fact they went strait to the keeper) but i've never done any serious damage with a stick. and even in fights most ppl chuck the sticks away.

    Ashore,

I too pondered this, and came to the conclusion that they are synchronising their movements to the music. Maybe

    You've got it Justine,

As far as I understand, not only to the music, but also style, a bit like ballet dancing in the water I was told!! (by my 9 year old niece). She heard that on TV, so it must be true!!!!

Aha!! He says in extremely poor taste, a one-armed syncronised swimmer!

If Boy Scouts can synchronise watches, then synchronising a couple of shielas in a pool shouldn't be a problem?

Why aren't there any blokes in synchronised swimming anyway?

    Cheers,

Haven't watched much of the Commonwealth Games myself.

    Reason: I don't follow sport.

BUT last nights basketball game was a real thriller as was the bowls that followed.

Well now that you ask, what are you doing for the Indian Comm games?

We could team up and do syncronised corpse diving together down the Ganges.
